Enjoy this outstanding Summer issue, and the Release Comments over the ten absolute hottest summer night places in town. Naturally, we have focused on the open-air DJ bars and not on traditional night clubs, open all year long. Some places usually on the list are missing in this summer issue because of cut down DJ activities. Also enjoy yet another old botw adventure.
Top 10 Comments:
Pontonen: This summers hottest news and also our choice for the top ten pole position. Finally we have a really cool place at Kungsholmen. The place is literally floating on the water, offering one of Stockholm’s most beautiful views, Västerbron one side and Stockholm City on the other. You’ll find plenty of tables under a big sailing cloth protecting the warm air coming from the many gas heaters. The half open kitchen positioned in one end is highly recommended. The bar is at the other end giving you the best service, however you can order at the table. An excellent DJ at the bar is pumping out some very nice and soulful house at a perfect level still allowing conversation without screaming. The sound is great. The service is really fast and excellent and there are plenty of nice people mingling and enjoying the summer night.
Södra Teatern: It’s an excellent idea to transform the theatre foyer including the extraordinary nice terrace to a club during the summer. This place is offering the absolute best view over Stockholm and the terrace is a fantastic place to spend the hot summer evening at. Inside, in the foyer, DJ’s from Multikulti and other places are playing Arabic and oriental tunes. The bar service is great and there is lot of people mingling around, dancing and amusing themselves.
Fredgatan 12: This place has had a face lift from last year. Sound and light are improved. The environment on the stairs and terraces of this monumental house just behind Rosenbad is fantastic. The view of Stockholm is great. A DJ is spinning the best R’N’B, soul and funk and there are plenty of people on the terrace and almost as many outside in line to get in.
Berns: We are glad to see that Berns is really claiming its rightful place as one of the best party options in the Stockholm night. Where else can you see such magnificent crystal chandeliers hanging from a roof 6 meters above ground and at the same time enjoy such good house music. Here you will find the elite of DJs from both Sweden and abroad spinning the best house, soul, R ‘n’ B and Hip Hop in 3 different rooms. The summer terrace is one of our favourite hang-outs....
Biblos: Always a great place for having fun at. Biblos is offering a nice open-air area facing Biblioteksgatan, a nice bar at the entrance floor where you can enjoy the best R’N’B and soul performed by the excellent DJ Marion. Downstairs the other two bars and the dance floor. Biblos is a great place to visit all around the year.
Norrlands Bar & Grill: One of our absolute favourite summer spots. The bar in the street level is a bit narrow but is compensated by the nice and airy bar upstairs, inside as well as outside. It does not matter if it’s raining ....a kind of a sail is rolled out over the yard and at once it’s like being indoors. The service and music is good and the place is filled with people enjoying the atmosphere. And in the summer we really can recommend this joint.
Halv Trappa + Gård: This place is relaxed and trendy at the same time. There are two entrances to this place. One is to the restaurant and the new upper one is leading to an apartment-like part of the place where the DJ’s mostly are spinning break beats. In this part of Halv Trappa they have no chairs, so the visitors sit on the floor at some very low tables. Halv Trappa + Gård’s yard is really an oasis and it’s a pleasure spending summer evenings here, enjoying the excellent food, the good music (they have DJs both inside and outside) and the fantastic atmosphere....
Café Opera: A Classic night club open everyday. The premises are probably the most beautiful you will find in town - in sharp competition with Berns and StureCompagniet. And what a dance floor!! Our team holds it as the hottest in town. We especially enjoy dancing to the great and bombastic (Latin) house tunes delivered by the best DJs, Kristos and others. In summer time they expand the premises towards Kungsträdgården, which gives the place a great summer feeling.
Viktoria: The botw crew thinks this place is best at summer time. During the days there is a nice open-air area. The club also expands premises during the summer which gives you the feeling of being almost outside. The dance floor is always packed with partying, happy clubbers enjoying both the tunes and the nice company.
Kjellsons: A couple of blocks away from Stureplan at Birger Jarls gatan you’ll find Kjellsons. At the entrance level there is a nice bar which expands on the side-walk during the summer. One of our crews absolute favourite sport. DJ’s are playing on Fridays and Saturdays.
